No res, un install-log per la vostra informació de com va progressant la cosa
--i de passada comentar el tema hotplug amb el kernel 2.6
Ara mateix he acabat el "near to-do" de posar una SuSE 9.1 a un Dell Dimension
8300 (P4 at 3GHz HT, xipset 845p at 800MHz, SATA, nVidia 5200)
Tot a la primera. Només ha fet falta activar a mà l'ultradma (ara va a 48-52
MB/s)
L'UTF-8 em feia cosa, però trobo que l'han lliurat molt més ben acabat que a
la RH 8, on donava problemes arreu. El primer que vaig mirar: si estaven
passades les planes del man :)
El suport d'alguns programes amb l'UTF-8 encara és just, però tot arribarà.
J-Pilot es fa un embolic, li haig de dir que host: UTF-8, Palm: Windows 1252.
Seguint amb el Palm, KPilot a la darrera versió tampoc no actualitza sempre
els canvis del PC al Palm --algun pic sí, no he detectat el runrun de perquè.
De totes formes, ha millorat molt el darrer any, res a veure amb el del KDE
3.1.
Amb les noves utilitats al YaST, posar en marxa coses com el ntp o named és un
moment :)
Porta una utilitat per baixar i posar els drivers propietaris de nVidia. En
fer-ho, també activa l'acceleració 3D.
En posar l'scanner fins i tot m'ha avisat del truc d'en Xus pels Snapscan
1212U: "alerta que necessita actualització de firmware cada pic"
En quant a l'USB funciona, però amb precaucions. Encara no tenc gens clar el
tema del hotplug:
- Si endollo un adaptador USB amb la compactflash dedins, l'obre en una
finestra i està com a disc USB darrere l'icona "My Computer" (que obre
drives:/ al Konqueror). Però no té opció de desmuntar?!?
- Si la desmunto al shell, les successives endollades ja no funcionen. Fins
deixar el tema hotplug com a penjat, vaig demanar reboot i no va rebotar, va
quedar tocat (*)
- Si arranco el PC amb l'adaptador USB endollat, sense compactflash dedins,
s'està uns 10 segons entre la pantallada de la BIOS de Dell i la del Grub.
Un pic fins i tot no va arrancar. Ja l'endollaré quan el necessiti.
En definitiva: tot plegat cada pic va més fi. El nou kernel promet, però
segur que s'haurà d'afinar.
